Yelula maintains 33 support-groups for those living with HIV across Namibia, conducting a wide range of programs related to HIV awareness, response, and prevention.

In addition to networking and public speaking opportunities, they teach: small business training, small grant application training, body mapping, nutritional training, bereavement training, and child-headed household and family-care training.

Through networking, training, grants, mentoring and outreach, the project:

* enhances grassroots organizational and leadership capacity
* promotes new and effective methods of HIV prevention
* supports exercise of basic human rights related to HIV & AIDS
* helps secure access to care and treatment.

Our Relationship
As Namibia’s largest HIV support network, Yelula/U-Khâi has extensive relationships within some of the country’s communities that have been most affected by HIV/AIDS. Yelula’s support groups are able to request donor funding from them for a whole host of training sessions, workshops and other HIV support programs. We will bolster Yelula's capacity to support small scale programs in Namibian communities ravaged by HIV/AIDS.

Support groups will submit small grant requests to Yelula, which will in turn be posted to our site and funded by international donors. Funds will then be directed from us to Yelula so that said program/project can be enacted.
