Oshiwa Hand Carved Frames are produced in the following stages:

1.     Measuring and joining of wood lengths.

2.     Filling in corner joints and blemishes with wood filler.

3.     Scouring down the frame to obtain a smooth finish.

4.     Staining the wood with Mahogany Wood Stain.

5.     Varnishing the stained wood and again scouring down the varnish and applying a second layer if necessary.

6.     Carving the design into the stained surface, by hand.

7.     Applying further stain into the carved surface and buffing up the stain to obtain a sheen.

8.     Drilling of hole for the dowel which is used to allow the frame to stand.

9.     Assembling the frame with glass front, hardboard backing, label, address card and dowel stand.
