Welcome to Promote Africa

Our Vision
Everyday, distinct traditional forms of African music, art and literature are lost. Many African communities do not have the resources or market access to leverage their talent and productive energies to preserve their cultural heritage. At Promote Africa, we hope to preserve these traditions and provide an avenue for bridging the divide between cultural expression and social development.

Through extensive international development partnerships, we place consumers into African communities, giving our customers the opportunity to fund economic development projects through their own economic decisions. In meeting our vision, we hope to promote cultural understanding while inspiring a socially responsible community committed to sustainable economic development.

Our Logo

Ananse Ntontan (spider's web) is a west-African symbol of wisdom, creativity and the complexities of life. Ananse, the spider, is a well-known character in Akan folklore. It represents the Messenger of the Supreme Being, who weaves a web of energy that permeates all of Creation. Ananse is said to govern the web, which controls information at all levels, whether the transmission of impulses within the body or the flow of energy throughout the cosmos.

Ananse Ntontan is an aphorism for our work, as this special symbol perfectly captures our over-arching goals. We hope that our site serves as its own web, highlighting the talent and creativity of our artists and musicians while providing the context to appreciate the complexities and beauties of African lives.
