What We Do - Art

Promote Africa's artwork represents the intimate relationships we have built with our international partners. We're more than a simple exporter/importer, as we reinvest in the communities where we work. Our partnership with the Namibian Training Authority encourages small business development because we are able to provide support via local Small Business Incubation Units.

Our products demonstrate the high-quality craftsmanship and functionality of African art, while the products represent the people, communities, culture and talent that we are fortunate to work with.

As a customer, you are able to directly support both our artisans and host communities. As a non-profit, we have an atypical business model which enables us to focus on the eradication of poverty by supporting community development.

Our administrative funding comes from private and corporate contributions, which allows us to give 100% of all art and handicraft sales back to the artisans and communities that produced the product. Our current disbursement structure gives 90% of the proceeds directly to the artisan group while contributing 10% to our community development fund.

Finally, we strongly believe in and are committed to the principle of fair trade as defined by the International Fair Trade Association. To see how we practice Fair Trade, click here.
